Planning a Visit
What to expect and billing options
Every visit together is tailored to your individual needs, since everyone’s breastfeeding and baby journey is different! I will want to address your primary concerns and answer any questions you have. Since it helps me understand the whole picture, I will ask lots of questions about your health history, your baby’s health, your birth story, what feeding looks like right now, and if we’re in person give hands-on help. With your permission, I can also assess your breast/chest anatomy and do an oral function evaluation for your baby.
Together, we’ll come up with a feeding plan to help you feel comfortable and confident!
Common concerns we can address:
latching & positioning
weight check and milk transfer evaluation
low milk supply or managing oversupply
engorgement, plugged ducts, mastitis
oral function assessment for baby including observations about tongue and lip ties and body tension
pumping help including flange sizing
bottle feeding support
customized prenatal lactation class
prenatal colostrum collection guidance
returning to work
weaning
normal newborn behavior questions and help with things like soothing, gas and burp techniques, swaddling.
special circumstances (tandem nursing, sensory issues, twins)
I have several options to help get your visit covered by insurance. Please be aware that some companies do not cover in-home or telehealth visits. I do have an option to see you in-clinic if you are able to travel to Bellevue, WA.
If you need to self-pay, I can create a superbill for you to submit for reimbursement.
If you are uninsured or on an Apple Health/Medicaid plan, please reach out. I can either do a sliding scale for home visits or may be able to bill your insurance if you are seen in-clinic.
